Why are salaries NEVER listed?
It’s the first day of spring! 🌷
As the season of renewal begins, we’re reminded of the hope and resilience within Belong Ottawa’s community. This past winter was exceptionally challenging for participants who are facing homelessness and housing insecurity - together, we provided warmth, safety, and support in a caring community during the coldest months of the year. 🌱This spring, let’s continue to create hope together.#BelongOttawa #FirstDayofSpring ... 🩷Thank you to St. Joe's Women's Centre for hosting another wonderful event for International Women’s Day! This year's theme, "Unfolding in Bloom: Giving Flowers & Sharing Joy," beautifully honoured women and gender-diverse individuals in our community.
It was a privilege to come together with many fantastic agencies and partners: Family Services Ottawa, AIDS Committee of Ottawa | Le comité du sida d'Ottawa, Cornerstone Housing for Women, Ottawa Coalition to End Violence Against Women (OCTEVAW), CAWI City For All Women Initiative: une ville pour toutes les femmes IVTF, Ottawa-Rape-Crisis-Centre, Interval House of Ottawa - Maison Interval d'Ottawa, Planned Parenthood Ottawa, Centre espoir Sophie, Immigrant Women Services Ottawa, WISE / IFSE, The Ottawa Hospital - L'Hôpital d'Ottawa.#IWD2025 ... This event is such a highlight of the year for us! Thank you Belong Ottawa for being one of the many wonderful organizations who came together and helped to create such a joyful experience for our shared communities ❤️
Women and gender-diverse individuals experience unique factors that contribute to experiences of homelessness and poverty, driven by gender inequality and systemic discrimination. Those with intersecting identities - racialized, Indigenous, disabled, immigrant, and 2SLGBTQI+ women - are at an even higher risk.
This issue hits close to home for Belong Ottawa as we create space for women and gender-diverse people at The Well. We’re proud to provide access to nutritious meals and essential services in a community of hope and support. ❓Looking to learn more?belongottawa.ca/programs/the-well/www.internationalwomensday.comcanadianwomen.org/the-facts/womens-poverty🗒️Agencies in Ottawa Minwaashin Lodge ProgramsOttawa Coalition to End Violence Against Women (OCTEVAW)Immigrant Women Services OttawaCornerstone Housing for WomenElizabeth Fry Society of OttawaSt. Joe's Women's CentreAmethyst Centre Ottawa - Centre Amethyst d’Ottawa ...
